先週は、私のペットについて話しましたが、今週は「私の休み」について話します。
先週の質問は、こんな質問でした。
「みなさんは、休みの日は どんなことをしていますか？どこかへ行ったり、誰かと会ったりしていますか？」
今日は、私が休みの日にすることと、最近の休みにどこに行ったか 話します。

I am a Japanese teacher, Emi.
Last week, I talked about my pet, but this week, I’ll talk about my days off.
Last week’s question was: What do you do on your days off?
Do you go somewhere or meet someone?
Today, I’ll talk about what I do on my days off and where I recently went during my weekend.
私は、平日、月曜日から金曜日までは、仕事をしています。
日本語のレッスンをしたり、レッスンの教材、マテリアルを作ったりしています。
仕事以外は、洗濯をしたり、お皿を洗ったり、家事をしています。
だいたい朝7時くらいに起きて、夜は11時くらいに寝ます。

On weekdays, from Monday to Friday, I work. I teach Japanese lessons and create lesson materials.
Outside of work, I do chores like laundry and washing dishes.
I usually wake up around 7 a.m. and go to bed around 11 p.m.
休みの日は、よく夫とカフェに行きます。
午前中、朝にカフェに行って モーニングを食べます。
みなさん、「モーニング」知ってますか？
「朝」じゃないですよ。英語の意味は「朝」なんですけど、日本語は ちがう意味があります。
「モーニング」は、カフェや喫茶店で食べる「朝ごはん」のことです。
カフェで、コーヒーや飲み物を注文すると、トーストが無料でついてきます。
たとえば、コーヒーが500円だったら、500円だけ払います。でも、トーストも食べられます。
私はモーニングが大好きなので、カフェにモーニングのメニューがあったら、いつも注文します。
そして、カフェで 少し仕事をしたり、勉強をしたりもします。

On my days off, I often go to a café with my husband. In the mornings, we go to a café and have “morning.”
Do you know what “morning” is? It’s not the time of day! While it means “morning” in English, it has a different meaning in Japanese. Do you know what it is?
In Japan, “morning” refers to breakfast served at cafés or coffee shops. When you order a drink like coffee, it often comes with free toast—a slice of toasted bread. For example, if coffee costs 500 yen, you only pay 500 yen, but you also get toast. I love “morning,” so I always order it if it’s on the café menu.
At the café, I sometimes work or study a little.
カフェでゆっくりしたあとは、家に帰って 夫とダーツをしたり、ゲームをしたりします。
でも、来月 私も夫もテストを受けます。ITのテストです。
テストがあるので、今はそのために 勉強をがんばろうと思っています。
でも、全然できていません…。
あと2週間でテストですから、がんばります…！

After relaxing at the café, we go home and play darts or games together.
However, next month, both my husband and I will take an IT test. Since we have the test coming up, we’re trying to study hard for it—but honestly, we haven’t done much yet.

Aside from going to cafés, we occasionally go on trips.
Last week, we went to Hakone in Kanagawa Prefecture. Do you know Hakone?
What is Hakone famous for? That’s right—hot springs! Hakone is known for its many hot springs. My husband and I also enjoyed a hot spring in Hakone, and it felt amazing.
でも、温泉に入る前に、「箱根湯本」という場所に行きました。
「箱根湯本」は、中心街で、お店がたくさんあります。
私たちも、かまぼこ（Steamed Fish Paste）や まんじゅうを食べました。
そして、旅館に行く前に、ソフトクリームも食べました。
箱根湯本には、おいしい食べ物もたくさんあるし、いろんなお土産も買えるし、とてもおすすめな場所です。

Before the hot spring, we visited Hakone-Yumoto, the central area with lots of shops.
We tried kamaboko (steamed fish paste) and manjū (sweet buns). Before heading to the inn, we also had some soft-serve ice cream.
Hakone-Yumoto has plenty of delicious food and souvenirs, so it’s a highly recommended spot.
箱根湯本で、少し食べ歩きをしたあと、旅館に向かいました。
旅館に早く着いたので、少しだけ 部屋で仕事をして、そのあと温泉に入りました。
夕ご飯の前だったので、温泉にはあんまり人がいませんでした。ラッキーでした。
夕ご飯は、さしみと天ぷらがあって、どれも全部 おいしかったです。

After strolling and snacking in Hakone-Yumoto, we went to our inn. Since we arrived early, I did a bit of work in our room before heading to the hot spring.
It was before dinner, so there weren’t many people in the hot spring—lucky us!
Dinner included sashimi and tempura, and everything was absolutely delicious.
夜は部屋でテレビを見て、また少し仕事をしました。
次の日も、少し早く起きました。たぶん5時半ぐらい…？
いつもは5時に起きないのに、この日は なぜか早起きでした。
朝は、歯を磨いて、顔を洗って、化粧をして、荷物をまとめたり、チェックアウトの準備をしました。
8時ぐらいから朝ごはんを食べて、早めにチェックアウトをしました。

That night, we watched TV in our room and did a bit more work.
The next day, I woke up a little early—around 5:30 a.m. Normally, I don’t wake up at 5 a.m., but for some reason, I did that day.
In the morning, I brushed my teeth, washed my face, did my makeup, packed up our things, and got ready to check out. We had breakfast around 8 a.m. and checked out early.
2日目は、観光しませんでしたが、カフェに行ってモーニングを食べました。
1泊の旅行だったので、あんまりたくさんの場所には行かなかったんですが、いいリフレッシュになりました。
