Good morning. Hello. Good afternoon.
I am a Japanese teacher, Emi.

I skipped the podcast last week.
Sorry about that.

But thanks to that, I was able to upload a vlog on YouTube.
I worked hard on it, so please watch it.
It’s a vlog from when I traveled to Beppu.

Have you ever been to Beppu?
It’s a place famous for hot springs, located in Oita Prefecture.
I don’t really like hot springs that much.
Well… I think they’re just okay.
But when I go in once in a while, it feels nice.
It helped me relax.

I still have videos from many other places I’ve visited.
I’ll do my best to make more vlogs, so please wait for them.

Alright, now let’s check last week’s question.
Last week, I asked this question:

“Have you tried something new recently?”

That was the question.

Something I recently started…
How about you? Is there anything you’ve started recently?

There are two things I’ve started recently.

The first is Buntsu.

Do you know what “Buntsu” is?
In English, it’s “penpal.”

In a podcast a little while ago, I talked about something I’ve been into recently — collecting stickers.
I’ve recently been enjoying collecting stickers, but just collecting them is a little boring.

So I thought I wanted to trade stickers.
That’s why I started penpalling.

To find penpals, I used a website called “Global Penfriends.”

On that site, you can set Jōken for the kind of friends you want to be penpals with.

“Jōken” means Condition.

For example, (you want your penpals that are) only women, people in their 20s, someone from the same country, someone from a different country — you can choose a lot of things.

Right now, I have more than five penpals.
Americans, British people, Germans… people from different countries.

I don’t have any Japanese penpals.

I write letters in English and include cute stickers.
It helps me study English too, and it’s a lot of fun.
Everyone also sends me cute stickers and small memos.

But recently I’ve been a little busy, so I haven’t replied yet.
Next week, I want to write reply letters to everyone.

The other thing I’ve recently started is…
YouTube.

I talked about this a little earlier, too.
I’ve been uploading my podcast to YouTube for a while, but I had never uploaded a video.

But finally, I posted my first vlog!
Yay! 🙌

But making videos is really hard.
Cutting scenes, adding subtitles, adding music… I worked hard on the Henshū.

“Henshū” means editing.
Editing was tough.

I worked hard to make it, so if you’d like, please watch it.
