When I was little, I wasn’t really into stickers.
But in elementary school, I remember that many of my friends collected them.
For some reason, though, I became obsessed with stickers as an adult.
I think there are two reasons for this.

Sometimes, I see stickers of characters from anime I used to watch as a kid, and I can’t help but buy them.

Do you know the small pink mouse from Spirited Away?
I love that character, so when I found a sticker of it, I bought it immediately.
I tend to put stickers of characters I liked as a child, or characters I like now, on things I use often—
like my laptop or smartphone.
That’s the first reason.

「達成感」ちょっと むずかしい言葉ですね。
「達成感」は、うれしい気持ちのことです。

The second reason is the sense of accomplishment I get from collecting.
“達成感” (tasseikan) is a bit of a difficult word.
It refers to “a feeling of achievement”—that happy feeling when you complete something.
When I collect a lot of stickers and organize them neatly in an album, I feel really happy.
Looking at my collection makes me think, “Wow, I gathered so many!”
It’s really fun.
